Myth of Lumi is a 3D physics-based turf war game where you duel rival magicians in card-throwing showdowns. Recruit Lumis, mystical creatures bound within your playing cards, to aid you in battle and carve your path to fame and fortune.

I was responsible for leading the development of the game's story, dialogue, character arcs, worldbuilding, and barks, crafting a rich magical world where illusion and ambition collide.

Experience Overview

Myth of Lumi is a narrative-rich card dueling game set in a city where magic performance equals influence. Players take on the role of Luce, a street magician vying for a place in the elite Conclave by competing in a series of high-stakes card duels. 

Along the way, they bond with Lumis, mythic creatures that allow magicians to perform dazzling displays of magic, each shaping the deck and the story in unexpected ways.

​Roles and responsibilities

Narrative Design

  • Co-developed the story premise, character, themes, and tone for a narrative-rich, high-stakes card dueling game.

  • Designed 4 animated journal chapter cutscenes, shaping the protagonist’s journey through ambition and self-discovery.

  • Authored narrative design deck to align the game's vision on tone, worldbuilding, character arcs, and key story beats.

  • Collaborated closely with artists, designers, and engineers to ensure cohesion across gameplay, UI, and environmental storytelling.

  • Facilitated casting process by drafting audition briefs and writing character sides for voice actor performance capture.

  • Conceptualized narrative systems that leverage existing mechanics to deepen story immersion without disrupting gameplay flow.
     

Writing

  • Wrote over 100 lines of dialogue, including character dialogue, NPC barks, and VO for key gameplay moments.

  • Crafted bios and backstories for 10+ characters and Lumis, each with unique motivations and evolving relationships.

  • Scripted key story moments, balancing journal cutscenes with combat-driven pacing to reflect the game’s central themes.
